This is a charming town perched on a hillside with amazing views over miles and miles of the Vendee. 

Must sees include the Donjon and the old church on the Montournais road with very ancient frescoes. 

The lake is also a fantastic place on a hot afternoon as it is has its own beach, is impeccably clean for swimming and playing about in boats, has a children’s play area and a lovely wooded walk around the lake. Pack a picnic for a leisurely lunch as it also has a nice picnic area with wooden tables and seats under the trees.

There are also a wide range of restaurants and bars in the town, as well as a very good indoor swimming pool with a long slide.
